Race against brain swelling: High-Dose blood treatment tested for sudden liver failure

NCT ID NCT06515145

Summary

This study aims to see if exchanging a larger volume of a patient's blood plasma works better than the standard amount to reduce dangerous brain swelling in people with sudden liver failure. Sixty eligible patients will be randomly assigned to receive either the high-volume or standard-volume treatment. The main goal is to see which approach helps the brain swelling improve faster and leads to better survival without needing a liver transplant.
