Scientists scan bodies to unlock fatty liver disease secrets

NCT ID NCT07366710

Summary

This study uses advanced full-body PET scans to see how people with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) process sugars and proteins differently than healthy people. Researchers will scan 36 healthy adults and patients with NAFLD to create detailed pictures of nutrient movement through the body. The goal is to better understand the metabolic changes in fatty liver disease, which could inform future treatments.
