Silent liver disease epidemic: can a simple computer alert help doctors spot it?

NCT ID NCT07159386

Summary

This study is testing a new computer alert system designed to help primary care doctors better identify patients with fatty liver disease (MASLD) who are at risk for serious liver scarring. The system works quietly in the background of electronic health records, prompting doctors to order a simple blood test and a follow-up scan when needed. The goal is to see if this tool helps doctors catch advanced liver disease earlier, without adding to their already heavy workload.
