Mayo clinic tests 'Trained' immune cells to fight inoperable liver cancer

NCT ID NCT03942328

Summary

This study is testing a new combination treatment for advanced liver cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. Doctors take a patient's own immune cells, grow and train them in a lab to attack cancer, and then inject them directly into the tumor after radiation therapy. The goal is to see if this personalized vaccine, combined with standard immunotherapy drugs, is safe and can help control the cancer and extend life.
