New combo therapy aims to shrink advanced liver tumors

NCT ID NCT05377034

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether a two-step treatment—internal radiation therapy followed by an immunotherapy drug combination—can shrink tumors better than radiation alone in people with advanced liver cancer that hasn't spread outside the liver. About 100 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the active drugs or a placebo after radiation. The main goal is to see how many patients have their tumors shrink or disappear within 9 months.
