Radiation zaps liver tumors, grows healthy tissue for surgery

NCT ID NCT05195710

Summary

This study is testing a radiation treatment called Y-90 radioembolization for patients whose colorectal cancer has spread to the liver. The goal is to see if this treatment can safely shrink tumors on one side of the liver while encouraging the healthy side to grow larger. This could make complex liver surgery safer and more possible for 50 patients who currently don't have enough healthy liver tissue to operate on.
