Targeted liver chemo tested to extend lives in Tough-to-Treat cancer

NCT ID NCT05024513

Summary

This study tested if adding a targeted chemotherapy directly into the liver's blood supply could help people with advanced bile duct cancer live longer. All participants received standard care to drain blocked bile ducts. Then, half also received the targeted chemotherapy, while the other half received only supportive care. The goal was to see if this approach could better control the tumor and extend survival for patients who are not eligible for surgery.
