New safety test could make liver cancer radiation treatment more accurate

NCT ID NCT07476651

Summary

This study is testing a new way to check if a liver cancer radiation treatment called radioembolization is safe for a patient's lungs. Researchers will compare a new 'scout dose' method using the actual treatment beads against the current standard test in 30 patients with liver tumors. The goal is to see if the new method gives a more accurate picture of lung safety and could serve as a reliable alternative when current testing materials are unavailable.
