Heating tumors to boost cancer treatment?
NCT ID NCT06581497
Summary
This study looked at whether adding a procedure called microwave ablation (which uses heat to destroy tumors) to standard immunotherapy could better control advanced liver cancer. It compared the two approaches in 52 patients who had already tried a first treatment. The main goal was to see if the combination helped people live longer or kept the cancer from getting worse for a longer time.
