Heating the edge: can a simple surgical step stop liver Cancer's return?
NCT ID NCT05492136
Summary
This study is testing if using a radiofrequency device to heat the cut edge of the liver after removing a tumor helps stop the cancer from growing back in that same spot. It will involve 720 adults with liver cancer from colorectal cancer or primary liver cancer (HCC). Patients will be randomly assigned to either receive this extra heat treatment on the surgical margin or not, to see which group has fewer local recurrences.
