New pump could bring powerful liver cancer treatment closer to home

NCT ID NCT07201519

Summary

This study is testing the safety and practicality of a special pump that delivers chemotherapy directly to the liver for people with colorectal cancer or bile duct cancer that has spread to the liver. Researchers want to see if the pump can be safely used and if patients can get their pump refills at a local clinic or at home instead of always traveling to a major hospital. About 80 participants will have the pump surgically placed and receive treatment for 3-4 months.
