Scientists grow 'Mini-Livers' from cancer patients to build future Drug-Testing library

NCT ID NCT05384184

Summary

This study aimed to see if researchers could successfully create and store a collection of 3D 'mini-organ' models, called organoids, grown from liver cancer tissue. The organoids were grown from tissue samples donated by 48 patients with liver tumors. If successful, this biobank could be used by scientists in the future to test new cancer drugs and study the diseases more accurately.
