Scientists test 'Barrier-Busting' method to spot spinal cancer in blood

NCT ID NCT07224451

Summary

This study aims to find better ways to detect spinal tumors using a simple blood test. Researchers will test a new, non-invasive method that uses gentle electric fields to temporarily open a protective barrier around the spine during surgery. This may allow tumor signals to pass into the bloodstream, where they can be measured and compared to traditional fluid samples taken during the operation.
