Blood test boosts lung cancer gene detection

NCT ID NCT04912687

First seen Mar 06, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding a simple blood test (liquid biopsy) to the standard tissue test could help find more gene changes (EGFR mutations) in people with advanced lung cancer. Over 500 patients who had not yet been treated provided both blood and tissue samples. The goal was to see if the combined approach improves detection rates and helps guide treatment decisions.
