Blood test could spot hidden cancer after surgery

NCT ID NCT06730412

Summary

This study tested a new, highly sensitive blood test to find tiny amounts of leftover cancer after surgery in patients with HPV-related head and neck cancer. The goal was to see if detecting this 'molecular residual disease' could better predict which patients might have their cancer return. Researchers followed 103 patients to see if a positive blood test after surgery was linked to worse survival outcomes.
