New scalp block may ease brain surgery pain for days

Summary
This study tests whether a single injection of a long-acting numbing medicine (liposomal bupivacaine) into the scalp can provide better pain relief after brain surgery than the standard numbing medicine. About 118 adults having elective brain surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either the new or standard scalp block. The main goal is to measure pain levels over the first three days after surgery.
