Blood fat level may reveal hidden heart artery severity
NCT ID NCT07209631
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study checked if a blood fat called lipoprotein(a) can predict how blocked the heart arteries are in people with a stiff heart valve (aortic valve sclerosis). Researchers studied 100 adults with chest pain or shortness of breath. They found that higher lipoprotein(a) levels were linked to more severe artery blockages, suggesting this blood test could help identify high-risk patients.
