New study links high lipoprotein(a) to faster heart valve disease
NCT ID NCT06648915
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looks at 364 people with mild to moderate aortic valve stenosis, a condition where the heart's aortic valve narrows. Researchers compare those with high levels of lipoprotein(a) (a type of fat in the blood) to those with low levels, to see if the valve disease gets worse faster. The goal is to understand the link, not to test a treatment.
