Landmark study launches to map the hidden dangers of rare fat disorders

NCT ID NCT03087253

Summary

This study aims to understand the long-term health journey of people with rare genetic or acquired lipodystrophy syndromes, where the body lacks normal fat tissue. Researchers will follow about 500 participants for 5 to 7 years to track how often serious conditions like diabetes and dangerously high blood fats develop, and what complications they cause. The goal is to gather detailed information to better predict and manage health risks for these patients.
