National trial tests if surgery eases debilitating fat disorder pain
NCT ID NCT05284266
Summary
This study aims to find out if liposuction surgery reduces pain and improves quality of life for women with lipedema, a chronic condition causing painful fat buildup in the limbs. It involves 220 women in Norway who will have the surgery and be followed for five years. The goal is to provide clear evidence on whether this surgical treatment is effective, as current guidelines are based on limited research.
