Baby's checkup doubles as Mom's birth control visit in new study

NCT ID NCT04092530

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tested a new way to help new mothers get birth control soon after giving birth. Instead of separate appointments, the researchers scheduled contraception care at the same time as the baby's well-baby visit. Over 2,500 women took part at seven clinics. The goal was to see if this approach increases the number of women who receive contraception within two and six months after delivery.
