First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding a special light treatment (photobiomodulation) to standard compression bandages can speed up healing of hard-to-heal leg ulcers caused by poor vein circulation. About 96 adults with venous leg ulcers will receive either real light therapy or a sham treatment twice a week for 16 weeks. Researchers will measure complete wound healing, pain, quality of life, and treatment costs.
