Shining a light on healing: new study tests laser therapy for stubborn leg wounds
NCT ID NCT07123285
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a special low-level light therapy (photobiomodulation) to standard compression bandage treatment helps leg ulcers heal faster and better. 96 adults with leg ulcers that haven't healed for at least three weeks will receive either real light therapy or a sham (fake) light treatment along with compression bandages twice a week for 16 weeks. Researchers will measure if the ulcers fully heal, if pain decreases, and if quality of life improves.
