Light therapy may reset body clocks in delirious ICU patients

NCT ID NCT05807178

First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special lighting program can help restore natural day-night rhythms in intensive care patients who are confused (delirious). Researchers will measure melatonin and other body clock markers in 40 adults, comparing the new light approach to standard hospital lighting. The goal is to see if light can improve sleep-wake cycles and support recovery.
