Light shines on brain injury: new study tests hope for older adults

Summary

This study tests a light therapy called transcranial photobiomodulation (tPBM) in 70 older adults (ages 55-85) who had a moderate or severe traumatic brain injury 1-2 years ago. The goal is to see if shining light on the head can increase blood flow to the brain and improve thinking skills like memory and attention. Participants will receive the light treatment and be monitored for side effects.
