Summary

This study tested a new, non-invasive treatment called transcranial photobiomodulation (tPBM) for adults with autism spectrum disorder. Over 8 weeks, 41 participants received either the light therapy or a placebo to see if it was safe and could improve social and behavioral symptoms. The goal was to find a new way to help manage core autism challenges without medication.
