Blue light zaps infections: new hope for faster healing

NCT ID NCT06052956

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a special light treatment to the standard procedure for draining deep abscesses helps patients heal faster. The treatment involves applying a blue dye to the infection and then shining a red light on it to kill bacteria. Researchers will compare three groups: two receiving different doses of this light therapy plus standard drainage, and one receiving only standard drainage, to see which approach gets the drainage tube out sooner.
