Sound waves aimed at the brain could ease Parkinson's
NCT ID NCT06763692
First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study will test if a gentle form of ultrasound, called low-intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU), can safely change brain activity in people with Parkinson's disease. Fifteen adults aged 45 to 80 will receive the treatment, and researchers will watch for side effects and measure changes in eye movement tasks that reflect brain function. The goal is to see if this non-invasive approach is safe and worth studying further for symptom relief.
