Sound waves without surgery: new hope for hand tremors?

NCT ID NCT07484152

First seen Mar 29, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether low-intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU) can safely reduce tremors and improve quality of life in people with essential tremor whose medications aren't working well. Twenty adults will receive both real LIFU and a sham (fake) treatment in separate sessions to compare effects. The goal is symptom relief, not a cure.
