First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests whether a standardized feeding protocol using fortified human milk helps very low birthweight (≤1.5 kg) or very preterm (≤32 weeks) infants grow better and have fewer health problems in the NICU. About 776 infants will be randomly assigned to receive either routine fortified human milk using the protocol or standard care. The researchers will measure growth, illness, and survival up to 3 months of age.
