Summary
This study tested a package of care to help low birthweight and preterm babies in India, Malawi, and Tanzania get better nutrition. The approach included supporting mothers to breastfeed, encouraging kangaroo care (skin-to-skin contact), and providing feeding advice after the baby goes home. The study involved 632 babies and their mothers in hospital NICUs and followed them after discharge.
