Lidocaine during ERCP may cut pancreatitis risk

Summary
This study tests whether adding lidocaine to standard anesthesia during ERCP surgery can reduce the chance of developing pancreatitis afterward. About 1,800 adults having their first ERCP will be split into two groups: one gets lidocaine, the other does not. Researchers will compare pancreatitis rates between the groups.
