First seen Feb 22, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving a numbing medicine (lidocaine) through an IV during surgery, along with another numbing medicine (ropivacaine) injected into the surgical cuts, helps people recover better after laparoscopic colorectal surgery. About 182 adults having surgery for colorectal cancer will take part. The goal is to see if this combination improves comfort, reduces pain, and lowers the need for strong painkillers.
