New hope for untreatable cancer pain? Two-Drug combo enters trial

NCT ID NCT07408193

Summary

This study is testing whether a combination of two drugs, lidocaine and ketamine, given through an IV, can better relieve severe, long-term pain caused by cancer in people whose pain isn't helped enough by strong opioid painkillers. It will compare the two-drug infusion to an active placebo (a sedative) in a small group of 24 patients. The goal is to see if this approach provides stronger pain relief and improves daily function for people with this difficult-to-treat pain.
