Muscle pain relief showdown: injection vs patch in ER

NCT ID NCT05151510

Summary

This study aimed to compare two lidocaine treatments for muscle pain in the neck or back. Emergency room patients would have received either a lidocaine injection directly into the painful muscle knot or worn a lidocaine patch on the skin. The goal was to see which method provided better pain relief during the ER visit and over the following five days. However, the study was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
