First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tested whether a lidocaine drip can reduce muscle spasms in the duodenum during a procedure called ERCP, which looks at the bile and pancreatic ducts. 120 adults were randomly given lidocaine or a placebo. The goal was to see if lidocaine could lower the need for extra spasm-relieving drugs and improve sedation.
