Ancient licorice root tested as modern gum disease fighter
NCT ID NCT07422883
Summary
This study tested whether a gel made from licorice root extract could help treat moderate gum disease when used alongside standard dental cleaning. Fifty adults with gum disease received either the licorice gel or standard care alone. Researchers measured gum health and inflammation levels to see if the natural extract provided additional benefit.
