NCT ID NCT07597187

First seen May 22, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special imaging method called LIBS can detect tiny metal or mineral particles in lung tissue that might be causing chronic lung diseases. Researchers will analyze stored biopsy samples from 70 adults with conditions like interstitial lung disease or emphysema, especially when an environmental or occupational cause is suspected but unproven. The goal is to see if this technique helps doctors better understand the disease cause, without requiring any extra tests or visits for participants.
