Scientists hunt for hidden clues before vision fails
NCT ID NCT06682819
Summary
This study aims to find early warning signs for a genetic eye disease called Leber hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON). Researchers will study 90 healthy people who carry a gene for LHON but haven't lost vision yet. They will analyze blood, tears, and eye scans to look for chemical changes that might signal the start of nerve damage before vision problems occur.
