New hope for older leukemia patients: gentler treatment trial seeks to control cancer

NCT ID NCT07153796

Summary

This study is testing whether a new drug called blinatumomab, given as an injection under the skin, works well and is safe when combined with lower-dose chemotherapy for older adults or those too frail for standard intensive chemotherapy who have a type of blood cancer called B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). The main goals are to see if this combination helps patients live longer without their cancer returning and to monitor for any side effects. Researchers will enroll about 60 participants to gather this information.
