New injection method could replace IV drips for leukemia patients

NCT ID NCT07223190

Not yet recruiting Disease control Sponsor: Amgen Source: ClinicalTrials.gov ↗

Summary

This study is testing whether giving a leukemia drug called blinatumomab as a simple injection under the skin works as well as giving it through a continuous IV drip. It will involve 560 adults newly diagnosed with a specific type of acute lymphoblastic leukemia who are already in remission after initial chemotherapy. The main goal is to see if patients receiving the injection live just as long as those getting the IV treatment, while also comparing side effects and quality of life.
