Could less chemo be enough? trial tests gentler approach for breast cancer
NCT ID NCT04419181
Summary
This study aimed to see if using a shorter, gentler course of chemotherapy before surgery could effectively treat early-stage HER2-positive breast cancer. The plan was to give patients four cycles of chemo and targeted drugs before surgery, then adjust the follow-up treatment based on how well the tumor responded. The goal was to control the cancer while reducing the harsh side effects often associated with longer chemotherapy. However, this study was withdrawn and did not enroll any participants.
