New drug trial offers hope for people with uncontrollable chronic hives

NCT ID NCT07415551

Summary

This study is testing whether a new drug called lesigercept can help adults with chronic spontaneous urticaria (long-lasting hives with no clear cause) when standard antihistamine medicines don't work well enough. About 150 participants will receive either lesigercept or a placebo (inactive substance) via injection every 4 weeks for 12 weeks, followed by a 4-week observation period. The main goal is to see if lesigercept safely reduces hive activity and improves quality of life compared to the placebo.
