New lens offers hope for clearer vision in complex eye condition

NCT ID NCT07338708

Summary

This study tested a special type of lens (the Vivity EDOF IOL) during cataract surgery for people who also have a mild, stable form of keratoconus, a condition that warps the cornea. The goal was to see if this lens could safely provide good vision at near, intermediate, and far distances for these patients, who are often told they can't use premium lenses. Ten participants had the lens implanted in both eyes and were followed for three months to check their vision quality and satisfaction.
