New pacemaker technique aims to stop heart failure before it starts

NCT ID NCT05015660

Summary

This study tests whether placing a pacemaker wire in a different part of the heart (left bundle) is better than the standard placement (right ventricle) for patients who need constant pacing due to heart block. Researchers want to see if the new placement reduces heart failure events, hospital visits, and heart-related deaths over three years. About 1,300 adults with good heart pumping function will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two pacing methods.
