New pacing technique could cut heart failure risks in pacemaker patients

NCT ID NCT05015660

First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests if a newer pacing method, left bundle branch pacing, is better than the standard right ventricular pacing for people with heart block who need a pacemaker. Standard pacing can sometimes weaken the heart over time, leading to heart failure or death. The study will follow 1,300 adults with an ejection fraction above 35% to see if the newer method reduces heart failure events and improves survival.
