Cheap arthritis drug tested as safer alternative to steroids for transplant complication

NCT ID NCT04932564

Summary

This study tested whether a drug called leflunomide could safely control joint and muscle problems caused by graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) after a stem cell transplant. The goal was to find an alternative to long-term steroid use, which causes many side effects. The trial was very small and ended early, so results are limited.
