First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tested if shining a special LED light on the gums can help people with braces feel less pain, move teeth faster, and lower the risk of root damage. Sixteen Vietnamese patients aged 11 to 30 took part. Half received the LED treatment, and half got a fake treatment. The researchers measured pain, tooth movement, and a protein in saliva linked to root damage over three months.
