First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested whether shining a special LED light on the gums can help people with braces feel less pain, move teeth faster, and lower the risk of root damage. Sixteen Vietnamese patients aged 11 to 30 took part. Half received the light therapy and half got a fake treatment. Researchers measured pain, tooth movement, and a root-damage marker in saliva over three months.
