Sniff away the fear: lavender and rosemary oils tested for dental anxiety in children

NCT ID NCT07352397

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether smelling lavender oil, rosemary oil, or a mix of both can help children feel less anxious and experience less pain during a tooth extraction at the dentist. Eighty healthy children who need a lower baby tooth pulled will be randomly assigned to one of four groups: lavender, rosemary, a combination, or a placebo. Their anxiety and pain levels will be measured using special scales.
